DIY: Beauty Treatments
Going to the spa is expensive, everyone knows that. But you can get spa like treatments at home, without spending too much.
Curious? Then keep reading!
1. OIL AND SUGAR
One way to get spa like treatments at home is by exfoliating your body.
All you need is brown sugar (or white) and extra virgin olive oil. Stir them together and then, gently, rub the mixture over your body with a gentle motion – don’t rub for too long or else your skin will become sensitive and irritated. After that, take a hot shower to rinse off the scrub. Once you’ve finished your shower, use immediately a hydrating lotion. Repeat this process once a week and your skin will be smooth and glowing.
A great way to add moisture back to your hair is by mayonnaise. I know that it sounds kind of gross, but mayonnaise is high in fat and oils, which make it a great conditioner! For an even more natural alternative, whisk olive oil and eggs together to make an all natural, homemade, mayonnaise-like substance that doesn’t have all the preservatives and add-ins of store bought mayonnaise. On your day off, massage mayonnaise thoroughly to your hair and scalp and let it sit for 60-90 minutes, then wash off in the shower!
3. LEMON JUICE
Lemon juice is amazing when it comes to dark spots. It has natural lightening agents so it can lighten them! Squeeze fresh lemon juice into a small bowl and dip a Q-tip into the bowl. Gently press the Q-tip onto the dark spot for 3 second intervals – do not do more than 5 intervals per day!
Remember to do this only at night! You are not going to see results immediately, it takes time but you won't regret it!
4. HOMEMADE MASK
Homemade masks are natural and they don't contain fragrances or additives. Here are the ingredients for a good homemade mask:
- green tea (reduces inflammation),
- a tablespoon of honey (moisturizes skin),
- a tablespoon of rice flour (purifies).
Mix all and just let it rest for 10 minutes. Then wash off with lukewarm water. Now you have a beautiful and glowing skin!
I hope you enjoyed this post and I would like to know if you will try these cheap alternatives :)!
